Third Time Charm - Curious Cantina

The third time’s the charm for the Curious restaurants with Curious Cantina located in Peachtree City. This is the third restaurant opened by local Chef Scott Smith.

The other two very popular restaurants, The Curious Kitchen and Bar in downtown Senoia, and the first Peachtree City locale, The Curious Pig are both already local favorites. These two locations feature a Southern Comfort Menu using upscale ingredients and daring flavors that elevate classic food items. Like their Nashville Chicken. This twist on a classic southern fried chicken brings the heat of southern wings and BBQ, to fried chicken in a simple sandwich. Items like this have been the staple of the two original Curious locations. Yet, for its third location, Chef Scott Smith went a different direction.

Introducing a Curious Family’s first, Mexican restaurant Curious Cantina. It is located in the Kedron Shopping area of Peachtree City, but don’t let that fool you. The location has been designed to feel like the other Curious locales. With large seating areas, a cozy, friendly atmosphere, a central bar with a window garage door also featuring an outside bar, a picture wall for your socials, and plenty of snap-worthy drinks and food items.

The food and drinks are inspired by Jalisco Mexico, and like the other Curious restaurants, offers upscale ingredients with unique flavors and drinks. Take their Octopus Ceviche. It’s made with pineapple, Serrano, red onion, cilantro, cucumber, avocado, and octopus topped with a little creme Fresca. It’s a ceviche that stands out from others with its bold take on this classic dish. The flavors, spices, and ingredients throughout this menu are true to Mexico and full of authentic cuisine as well.

The chorizo and al pastor tacos taste like we ordered them on the beaches of Mexico after a long day of surfing, as does the guacamole and red salsa. A truly authentic red salsa from the Jalisco region, it’s more of a smoked red salsa and Cantina’s is the perfect balance of spice and flavor. Meanwhile, the duck tacos (or carnitas) are a unique twist on the Mexican dishes, which pairs perfectly with the rest of the menu. The carefully crafted drink menu is also just as authentic and unique. Tequila Made Me Do It is not only fun to say, but also a grownup version of the Texas Margaritas we’re so family with. The drinks feature Agave, Cactus, and Tequila up front and center, like the best spots in Mexico.

This third location may be the most unique of the Curious Family, but that’s part of its charm. It’s the perfect little getaway located just inside Peachtree City and bubbling over with great food and drinks. So run on over and see all its charm for yourself. ¡Disfrútalo!
